On Thursday, June 18, 2026, Ms. Samah Daldoul, in charge of the Municipality of Tunis, received Dr. Ziad Alameddine, Director of the Urban Policy Research Program, and Engineer Nesima Shahboun from the Arab Institute for Urban Development, in the presence of representatives from the Ministry of the Interior and several municipal officials. Ms. Daldoul emphasized the importance of the partnership with the institute in the fields of sustainable urban development and the improvement of public spaces. The meeting also reviewed the progress of the project “Greening Neighborhoods in Some Arab Cities,” which aims to revitalize spaces in the old city and support sustainable urban development while preserving the cultural heritage of the city. This includes the development of the Medek El-Halfa square and its surroundings through the planting of trees and ornamental plants, improving pathways, enhancing public lighting, as well as interventions in several adjacent streets, and caring for the internal and external spaces of the Abdul Aziz Al-Asram School.

On Thursday, June 4, 2026, Ms. Samah Daldoul, in charge of managing the Municipality of Tunis, received Mr. Badr Wael Al-Ajil Al-Askar, Secretary-General of the Arab Cities Organization, along with his accompanying delegation, in the presence of a representative from the Ministry of the Interior and several relevant municipal officials. Ms. Daldoul emphasized the deep historical relations between the Municipality of Tunis and the Arab Cities Organization, highlighting the fruitful cooperation and exchange of experiences in various fields related to municipal affairs over the past years. This visit was an appropriate opportunity to explore the prospects for developing joint cooperation and enhancing the partnership between the two sides by intensifying programs for exchanging successful experiences in the fields of local governance, urban development, and heritage preservation, as well as discussing ways to support initiatives and projects that contribute to improving the quality of municipal services and achieving sustainable development for the benefit of citizens.
